Spring 2017 Ready-to-Wear
At a Resort preview in June, Mara Hoffman offered a glimpse into the next phase of her brand. The clothes were noticeably softer-looking than the vibrant prints and body-con dresses she’s known for, but the changes were deeper than that, too; Hoffman was busy making her collection more sustainable, from the fabrics to her sales strategy. Spring ’17 marked the first big push in that direction, with clothes that, as Hoffman put it, “you can wear and wear and wear.” The rise of disposable fashion was one reason Hoffman felt the need to shift her business, but she doesn’t want the clothes to scream sustainable or eco-conscious. “We still want to lead with an emotional response,” she said. “That has to be the first thing. You aren’t going to buy something out of a sense of duty, or because it’s sustainable. You have to really be in love with it.”For Hoffman, that started with the actual feel of the clothes. “Softness is so important to me,” she said. “I wear so much vintage, so I’m used to things that have really been worn.” A white shirtdress came in a lovely organic cotton jacquard from Japan, and Hoffman enlisted an all-women weaving group in India to create the dreamy powder blue–striped fabric for a slip dress and cropped trousers. Those textures had a warm, human touch that was missing in her signature prints, which often felt a bit flat. Hoffman admitted she hasn’t worn much print lately, and designing for herself is central to her new ethos; surely other like-minded women are craving washed-out colors and natural textures. “The root of the collection is still there,” she said. “It’s still about celebrating joy and happiness and color, but it’s just reinterpreted and a little more refined.”There were moments of vibrancy, too, consistent with what’s happening on the runways this season. Hoffman’s longtime devotees will zero in on the lemon yellow midi dress and rainbow-striped linen pieces; they packed the same punch as her digital prints, but with a softer, subtler feel.

Fall 2016 Menswear
Today’s torrential rain, out of the ordinary as it is for early February, was appropriate for Michael Kors’s men’s presentation. The designer had performancewear on his mind for Fall. He touted a “membrane-backed wool” that he used for skinny trousers, unstructured suit jackets, and actual outerwear as windproof, cooling, and virtually waterproof, too. It could’ve been a boon to editors and buyers shuttling back and forth across the city for the third day of New York’s men’s collections. The overall vibe of the week has been fairly utilitarian so far, in contrast to the dandified look of so many European runways. Cast your eye over the shows here and you see a lot of black and even more gray. That held true for Kors, but where streetwear has dominated other collections, Kors gave his athletic silhouettes more of an Alpine spin. We thought we’d seen every riff on the puffer jacket known to woman or man, but the designer’s puffer pants looked like a genuine first to us. Otherwise, his ski pants were snug and body-conscious—the macho man’s answer to ladies’ athleisure leggings.Ribbed cashmere sweatpants proved a welcome counterpoint to all that stretch wool. Here’s hoping that Kors considers including some in his women’s show two weeks from now.

Ca sĩ Andy Williams qua đời
Người quyến rũ khán giả qua các ca khúc mượt mà của thập niên 1950, 1960 như Moon River, Can’t Get Used to Losing You…, Andy Williams vừa qua đời ở tuổi 84 tại nhà riêng thuộc thành phố Branson, bang Missouri (Mỹ) hôm 25.9 sau cuộc điều trị bệnh ung thư bàng quang suốt một năm qua.

Xóa bỏ cưỡng bức dữ liệu ra khỏi máy tính
Trong quá trình sử dụng hệ điều hành Windows, chắc hẳn bạn đã từng gặp phải tình huống khi xóa bỏ một dữ liệu nào đó sẽ xuất hiện thông báo với nội dung như: "Cannot delete xxx: It is being used by another person or program." và không cho phép bạn thực hiện tiếp công việc này. Nguyên nhân có thể là do dữ liệu đó đang được sử dụng hay có liên quan đến các tệp tin thư viện đã được kích họat. Vì thế mà bạn không thể xóa bỏ được chúng.
